I was born with a talent on the artistic side, but my interests and pursuits didn't stop there. I have had a love for nature since childhood, a love for horses, and a special affection for birds. My husband Scott has supported and furthered my ambitions and activities, and been a willing companion in the many activities that have resulted in surprising conclusions. This has led to extensive wild bird rehabilitation, and a deeper appreciation of the character and personalities of each member of Creation. In the cases of those individuals that cannot be released, they soon obtain the run of the house as desired, and later regularly accompany the family on vacations.
Our daughter and son eventually entered the picture, and have become just as involved with the complexity of this family. And in a short few years after the arrival of kids, it continued to increase with the addition of 2 Friesian mares (an eventual colt born to us), a rescued German Shepherd, and even more birds.
I work in many medias: traditional oil, graphite, gouache, pen-and-ink, and pastels, and not so traditional WYSIWYG website building. A blank page for a future website is the same as a blank canvas awaiting a penciled idea. I write as a "ghost" for those that need writing services. My work has been published in "North American Friesian Journal", and is a regular addition of "The Friesian". It has been included in the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Museum of Art "Birds in Art" Exhibition, and traveled nationally. It is also in several private collections, and won awards where displayed.
Through all of this the most important Truth that has been realized is the Presence and the Love of God for each one of us and every member of His Creation, and His Ultimate Plan of Salvation. He has given us His Word, in written form, and as His Son. And through these 2 paths we learn more of God Himself, His Plan for our salvation through Christ Jesus, and things he wants us to learn, and to press on towards. He also has His uses for us, and this depends upon what He has put within each of us, and what he asks of us, as we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us. We must pay attention to what happens before us, not just be content to drift through life, but to recognize the seasons, to watch the signs, to study to show ourselves approved, and to test that we are always in the Faith.
